Primarily my experiance is with ESXi and in recent years just as a simple target for virtualized work loads. However in the past I have deployed IBM blade enviroments with fibre channel storage. Provisioning luns to the hosts and ensuring best pratice with VMKernal networks and high availability. I have used FreeNAS and OpenNAS to provide iSCSI luns to development ESX servers been used in test enviroments.
